This is a
one-of-a-kind journal made from a rescued copy of the
1877 publication of "The Flood of Years" by poet
William Cullen Bryant.
I have adorned the cover with a vintage photograph. The satin ribbon, in addition to adorning the cover, serves to anchor the long-stitch and kettle-stitch binding, visible on the spine. |

The pages
of the journal are made from marbled paper, hand torn
along a ruler to the size of the cover.
I used a straight-edge ruler for the top and bottom
of each page and a variegated pattern ruler for the
long edge. |

|
I include out-of-context
quotes from the original book on some of the pages to
be used as writing prompts. Quotes from this book in particular may encourage reflection, at a high level as with this quote. |

And to do with
many aspects of living. Note: I give the page number of each quote, when available, and list the publication information on the last page of the journal. |

Covering the
inside of the front and back covers are a copy of my
original watercolor drawing. At the bottom of the last page is my unique signature medallion, which also indicates the year I made the book. The journal has an attached beaded ribbon bookmark. |

include a paper bookmark listing the book's main
features. Dimensions of the journal are approximately 8.75" x 7" x .5". |
