This is a
one-of-a-kind journal upcycled from the novel, "No
Easy Circle."
I preserved much of the 1970's art work on the original cover but enhanced it with a cut out and line drawing on a copy of my original, "psychedelic" watercolor painting. I also used decorative yellow and white ribbon as anchors for the stitching that binds the blank journal pages to the cover. |

I hand tore the pages using a wave-pattern
ruler to the size of the cover from medium-thickness
white paper. I used a cross variant of a long
stitch and kettle
stitches for the binding. These stitches are
visible on the spine. The book block (a term
meaning all the pages of a book as a whole) contains
four signatures (a term for groups of pages folded
together). |

I include out-of-context quotes from the
original book on several of the pages. These can be used as writing prompts. |

Writers may react for or against the
prompts or ignore them all together. |

meandering thought journey. |

I used a copy onto cardstock of my original watercolor and marker drawing to line the front and back covers and to reinforce the spine. (Yes, giving you a full-in-the-face splash of 1970's-like "psychedelic" color!) |

On
the last page is my unique signature medallion, which
also indicates the year I made the book. The journal has an attached beaded ribbon bookmark; the beads are of course in "psychedelic" colors! |

include a paper bookmark listing the book's main
features. Dimensions of the journal are approximately 8.9" x 5.9" x 1". |
