This is a
one-of-a-kind journal made from a discarded copy of
the Hardy Boys mystery, The Secret of Skull
Mountain, copyright 1948.
I embellished the original cover with a skull medallion and woven ribbon, which also anchors the binding stitches. I bound the five signatures (groups of pages folded together) to the book cover using long and kettle stitches, visible on the spine. |

The pages
of the journal are marbled-gold parchment. I have hand torn each page along a zig-zag ruler to size it to the book cover. On some of the pages I include out-of-context quotes from the original book for use as writing or art-inspiring prompts. |

the spine, are original to the book.
On the inside back cover is my unique signature medallion, which also states the year I made the journal. |

bookmark listing the book's main features. Dimensions of the journal are approximately 7.5" x 5" x 1". |
