hanging view
"It was the best of times; it was the worst of times," or so Charles Dickens says at the beginning of A Tale of Two Cities, one of the five Dickens books featured on this decorative danglie.

The string of small books is for hanging in a window or from a light fixture.  From the top of the fish-line loop at the top of the string to the bottom of the last book, the string measures approximately 23".

The danglie has five titles all by Charles Dickens.

The covers are scraps of decorative paper glued over discarded book pages to give them added rigidity.

The pages of the books, which measure approximately 1.5" x 1.3", are all blank, except the middle pages.  On these is the first sentence of each particular title.
I bound the books using a glue-based, drum-fold binding technique.
medallion view

On the back of each book is a mirror to catch and reflect light.

On the inside back of the bottom book is also my own unique signature medallion, which gives the year the danglie was made.
